Interspecies Love Letter: cAI™ Lab
DATE
2025.3.28 - 2025.4.13
LOCATION
SKYLIGHT PAVILION OF THE KENNEDY CENTER
Coinciding with the performance, Interspecies Love Letter, Cai Guo-Qiang transformed the Kennedy Center’s Skylight Pavilion into an immersive and multidimensional exhibition, titled cAI™ Lab.
In this project, I was in charge of using the AI-powered robotic arm to laser-engrave the back of mirrors, creating the five-panel glass and mirror painting Interspecies Love Letter. My team and I also developed the AI-driven interactive installation Graveyard Orbit.

For the interactive installation Graveyard Orbit, visitors could send greetings or pose questions to the piece. In response, a balloon fluttered its wings and gently descended in front of the participant. At the same time, a UFO-shaped mini TV displayed real-time, stanzaic responses generated by cAI™, and guests received printed copies of their personalized stanzas.
